The Nintendo all start fighting series – a product of collaboration between Nintendo and HAL laboratories since the N64 version way back in 1999 will be shifted to a new developer for the 3DS and Wii U outings, which are likely to be released next year.

Along with Sora studios, Namco Bandai have taken the helm in developing the next two installments. Namco are most famous for the Tekken and Soul Calibur series so have plenty of experience to bring to the table. Link was also a guest star in Soul Calibur 2. Smash Brothers creator Mashahiro Sakurai from Sora studios will over see the development of the game, which has just started in the development stages.

The two games will be created at the same time so it is more and more likely that they will in some form interact with each other. More news on these titles as it happens!
