One of our favourite Tasmanian tigers is finally getting his release on the PS4 at the end of June. TY The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD was initially released on the Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One earlier in the year after a successful Kickstarter campaign, and developers Krome Studios have been beavering away to get the PlayStation version up and running.

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD will be releasing on the PlayStation Store on 30th June at 14.00 (BST) to be precise. This will be a digital only release.

As the name suggests, Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD is a remaster of the PS2/GameCube/Xbox era 3D platformer with enhanced high definition graphics, as well as numerous improvements over the first entry in the series. Along with the visual improvements, Ty 2 also features a Hardcore Mode, where you only get one life, and the addition of a photo-mode, time attack and speed run modes. If that wasn’t enough for you, leaderboards and trophies to compare with friends have also been implemented.

We rather enjoyed the game when we reviewed it back in May. Our Drew said of the Switch version:

Whether you’re behind the wheel of a kart, dropping water bombs on a forest fire or flinging boomerangs at a swathe of goofy lizards, Ty 2 offers fun, laughs and all the animal antics you could ever ask for. The noughties might have been a decade to forget for fashion, but don’t ever let anyone tell you that the games of the era were anything but top notch.

Hopefully now that Ty 2 is out across all platforms, we’ll get to learn more about Ty 3. Yes, we know Krome should probably take a break but after two successful Kickstarter campaigns, we know there is demand to see more of the series! Perhaps, dare we dream of a new entry?
