Microsoft has had a sales ban placed on all Xbox 360s in Germany after being successfully sued by Motorola in a dispute involving Microsoft’s use of H.264 video compression technology. Windows 7, IE Explorer and Windows Media Player are also affected by the injunction.

What this means is Microsoft cannot sell the products until the dispute has been resolved. The only saving grace is that because both companies are based in the USA is that the ban cannot come into effect until the US courts have investigated the row further. A decision is likely to be next week.
