Capcom didn’t just lift the lid on Resident Evil Village today, oh no. As part of the game’s 25th anniversary, players who purchase the latest game will get Resident Evil RE:Verse at no extra cost. Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC in 2021.

RE:Verse certainly doesn’t look as refined as Resi Evil Village, but at least in this shooter, you can pick from a cast of familiar characters and battle it out in four to six player deathmatches. Once you are killed, you will turn into a bioweapon such as Nemesis and can exact revenge.

We don’t understand why Capcom are trying to push for a third person shooter in the Resident Evil franchise but they are going all in on this one. Starting 2nd February and lasting until the 15th Feb, Ubisoft will be hosting a cross-over event in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 to celebrate the series’ anniversary.

Resident Evil RE:Verse will be available at no extra cost for Resident Evil Village owners across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2021. It will be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles via backwards compatibility.

Presumably, if you just wanted to buy RE:Verse, then you will be able to. Capcom promises more information soon.
